Although the Rehabs entered the 2008 season with championship aspirations, they once again fell short when they were unable to get out of the first round of the playoffs.  With this disappointment fresh on their minds, they needed to make some personnel changes during the offseason.  After several seasons as captain, Bryan “Stork” Welch resigned his post and handed the reins to ardent McSorley supporter, Meredith Danberg-Ficarelli.  The new regime already has high hopes for the season, as Danberg-Ficarelli exclaims, “It’s all happening.  I’m so excited.  This season is going to rock…Bring it bitches!”

However, the 2009 season will not be easy for the new captain.  Immediately, she must deal with the departures of several valued cogs in the Rehabs machine.  Although Jon “Dinner Plate” Feldman is expected to attend a few games throughout the season, he and Stacy Kehoe are both pursuing educational glory on opposite ends of Pennsylvania.  In addition, Sal Malguarnera signed as a free agent with What The Puck, further depleting the offensive depth.  To counter these losses, Danberg-Ficarelli enlisted the recruiting prowess of Hector “$howT!m3” Melendez, whose ability to scour the battledome resulted in the free agent signing of Sean McClain (whose battledome prose mimics that of $howT!m3).  With a slightly slimmed down roster, the Rehabs bring a tight and talented nucleus that is once again primed to compete for a championship.

Food They Closely Resemble: Cajun Gumbo. The initial concept here was simple: combine reliable stock ingredients to produce a traditional and effective result.  However, throughout the years, several new ingredients have been blended in to enhance and spice up the original.

Also, the original rehabs were a bunch of underdog hooligan rif rafs – this image has since subsided… but the logo has not and neither has the heart.
