Our Final Thoughts on the Finals

By Patrick Larsen

Our intrepid news team has covered this game six ways to Sunday so there really isn’t much more to add. We could talk about the fact that Tropical Storm Sandy may have a part to play in the proceedings. Or figure out how Suz is going to win it for Fresh Kills this year (we hear she hasn’t ruled out streaking). But the lesson to be learned from four rounds of playoffs is this …

… it’s anyone’s game. Take a look at those semi-final results. Both games won by single goals late in regulation. Or even better. Look at the quarter finals. Three overtime games, two shootout wins. A different call by a referee, a different move by a goalie and we might be watching a completely different final. But as it is, we’ve got two very evenly matched teams going head to head in what’s sure to be a close, hardly fought game. Both teams have talent, both teams have heart but one team will have better fortune on the day.

Good luck to them both.

And now, thanks to the diligent efforts of our researchers, a look at Ken Poulin’s rookie card.
