Two Players Missed The Point Of This Picture

Mega Touch

Mega Touch With Mega New Look!
As part of its massive rebranding efforts, Mega Touch unveiled its new uniforms to limited fanfare.  Although the event is notable for being the first time Alex “Coop” Eben Meyer has been seen in a clean shirt, the uniforms were eerily reminiscent of the now defunct Bad Touch’s shirts from last season.  Captain Eric Devlin reluctantly admitted the similarities, noting, “We couldn’t really change our team colors, so this is what we had to get.”

At Least One Member Of What The Puck Is Pumped

GAME OF THE WEEK
Denim Demons (10-1-2-1) vs. What The Puck (12-2-0-1)
Location:
Moffo, 4:00 PM
All-Time Series: What The Puck leads 8-2
Game Notes: These teams waged a classic battle in the quarterfinals of the 2007 playoffs, where What The Puck emerged with a one goal victory. The Demons currnelty trail What The Puck by two points in the standings, but with a game scheduled prior to this one, they could enter this matchup in a first place tie. This has all the makings of an intense and heated matchup, as the victor will have the inside track to the top seed in the rapidly approaching playoffs. With these two teams so evenly matched, victory will hinge on the the motivation and strategy of two the league’s most cunning captains: the Demons’ Adam “Legend Killer” Rubens and What the Puck’s Larry “Mad Dog” Zimmer.
Keys To The Game:
1. The Demons will have a 2:00 game at Moffo, which gives Zimmer the perfect opportunity to scout his opponent.
2. With the returns of grizzled veteran Tom MacDonald and spunky forward Jen Hale from Canada to What The Puck’s already potent offense, the Demons will have to go over even more footage in the film room.
3. Known as the utility player of the Denim Demons, Zack Tinkelman can play any position on the court, including goalie, where he has already registered two shutouts on the season.
Eli’s Pick: What The Puck.  The Demons get caught up in a “Hale Storm”.
Derek’s Pick: What The Puck.  The Orange and Blue will be the first seed in the playoffs.

Say No More (Mon Amour)

It’s Rex Manning Day!!!
A buzz was in the air last weekend. Although, on the face of it, Sunday seemed like it would just be a normal day of BTSH hockey, league commissioner Bob “Olmec” Weyersberg had other ideas. Through his extensive connections in the music industry, Weyersberg arranged for famed recording artist Rex Manning to appear at Welcome to the Johnson’s. He dubbed it “Rex Manning Day”. Despite the long lines this created at BTSH’s favorite hockey bar, everyones excitement level was sky-high for a chance to meet the British pop star. One BTSHer, Filthy Gorgeous’s Monica Russo, even fainted upon meeting the icon, when Manning gave her a light peck on the cheek. What The Puck’s Corey “Chongo” Winters described the spectacle, “This was truly the happiest day in my life. I have all of his albums, so to finally meet Rex Manning in person is a dream come true, eh?” The best news of the day came at the end of the evening, when bartender Brent Smith announced that the event had raised enough money to prevent the Johnson’s from turning into a Music Town.

Marc Summers Would Be Proud

Oh, those Demons

The Real Physical Challenge Was For Jim to Get His Shirt On
After the smashing success of their Dunkin’ Donuts themed uniforms, the Denim Demons honored another American institution with new Double Dare themed t-shirts.  In addition to a graphic on the front of the shirt, the new version also features player names and numbers on the back (for those of you who can’t tell the difference between “Hacksaw” Jim Dandeneau and Jeff Kamen by looking at their fronts).  Abigail Meisterman may have the most unique combination with “Dewey” as her name and the Dewey Decimal System classification for hockey as her number (796.962).  However, Micael Holmström’s subtlety of just using his last name and a non-descript number (16) is by far the most brilliant.  In a potential oversight, Adam “Legen(d) Killer” Rubens’s shirt only reads “Legen”, indicating that D may be missing from his game.  He claims the reason for the omission will be revealed at a later date and time…
