Hockey Night In Tompkins Schedule

Sunday, February 27th, 2011

When BTSH moved to Tompkins Square Park in 2009, the previously dreaded late game quickly became a lot more desirable.  In addition to the obvious benefit of allowing players to sleep in from their Saturday night activities, the new location allowed more spectators to stay and cheer on the competing teams.  Bars and restaurants were now in close proximity, and league members didn’t mind watching the late game, as civilization was just a two minute walk from the court.  Combine these advantages with your humble correspondents’ increased focus on the late game matchups in the weekly previews, and the tradition of Hockey Night in Tompkins was born.

Extended coverage of the prestigious Hockey Night in Tompkins games began during the 2010 season.  Teams playing in this coveted time slot began to anticipate longer, more thorough previews written by BTSH.org’s cub reporter Jesse Kalb.  His unique style and extremely accurate “Jesse the Greek” predictions garnered him a cult-like following among even the most casual of site readers.  As a result, we at the media are extremely proud to announce that Kalb will return to cover the Hockey Night in Tompkins games in the 2011 season.

Thus, with anticipation building on who will have the privilege to compete on this league-wide stage, here is the complete Hockey Night in Tompkins schedule for the 2011 season:

Hockey Night In Tompkins Schedule

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Prior to the 2009 season, teams in BTSH always dreaded seeing a late game time listed on their schedule.  With the rest of the league already at the bars, the last game of the day meant playing on an empty court and taking a lonely walk in the dark from Corlears Hook Park (or Moffo Rink) to Rivington Street.  However, when the league moved to Tompkins, the late game took on a whole new meaning.  With bars in close proximity, league members actually stayed to watch their friends compete, even after sunset, making the day’s final contest a much bigger event than it was in years past.  Combine that with your humble correspondents’ increased focus on the late game matchups in the weekly previews, and the tradition of Hockey Night In Tompkins was born.

Thus, with anticipation building on who will have the privilege to compete on this league-wide stage, here is the Hockey Night In Tompkins schedule for the 2010 season:
