GAME OF THE WEEK
Dark Rainbows (12-4-0-1) vs. LBS, Inc. (11-4-0-1)
Location: Tompkins West, 4:30 PM
All-Time Series: LBS, Inc. leads 6-5-1
Game Notes: This makeup of a “rain fears” game features the top two teams in the Schloeder Division, the Dark Rainbows and LBS, Inc. After a tough three game stretch, the Dark Rainbows have rebounded with consecutive wins against the Gouging Anklebiters and Tuques. Captain Sean Reynolds has led the team by example, as he has recorded three goals during these two wins. LBS, Inc. enters the game headed in the opposite direction, as the Corporation has lost its last two games following an eight-game winning streak. To add insult to inury, both of these losses came at the hands of teams with losing records at the time of the game. With only three weeks left in the regular season, the outcome of this game could determine the Schloeder Division champion.
Keys To The Game:
1. Despite sitting in fifth place, the Dark Rainbows only have a goal differential of +3. They have shown heart by winning a lot of close games, but when they lose, it’s usually not pretty. Goaltender John Meyer will need to keep the game close for his team to win.
2. LBS, Inc. forward Karsten Pichon leads the league with 24 goals. He enters this game riding a six-game scoring streak.
3. With the Rainbows and LBS, Inc. each playing a tough game earlier in the afternoon, stamina and depth will be crucial in this matchup.
Eli’s Pick: Dark Rainbows. They seem to be back on track.
Derek’s Pick: No pick. Derek will be reffing this game.
Watchability: 4.5 Meyers

GAME OF THE WEEK
Dark Rainbows (10-2-0-1) vs. LBS, Inc. (10-3)
Location: Tompkins East, 5:30 PM
All-Time Series: LBS, Inc. leads 6-5-1
Game Notes: This battle of Schloeder Division rivals features two of the league’s three 10-win teams. The Dark Rainbows enter this game in second place in the standings, on the strength of an eleven game stretch without a regulation loss. However, in a minor upset, the Rainbows were stymied by another division foe, the Sky Fighters, last week, in what captain Sean Reynolds deemed one of his “most embarrassing sports moments ever.” LBS, Inc. has little to be embarrassed about as the team has won seven consecutive games and now sits in a three-way tie for third place. The corporation has scored the second most goals in BTSH with 55, with the offesnive tandem of Karsten Pichon and “The Alpha Male” Ken Poulin accounting for 31 of them. The Dark Rainbows, who defeated LBS, Inc. 4-2 in Week 3, will have to clamp down on this explosive scoring attack if they want to sweep the season series.
Keys To The Game:
1. Although LBS, Inc.’s duo of Pichon and Poulin generate more accolades, the Dark Rainbows pair of John Nielsen and P.T. Walkley should not be overlooked. The two have combined for 24 goals on the season.
2. LBS, Inc. has the second best goal differential in the league. Although this is mainly bolstered by their high-octane offense, Seth Wachtell’s zen-like approach to goaltending has been a major factor as well.
3. After reading in the Week 14 News and Notes that LBS, Inc. stuffs a $100 bill into the mouth of every goalie the team beats, Rainbows keeper John Meyer has considered throwing this contest…as times have been real tough.
Eli’s Pick: No Pick. Eli will be reffing this game.
Derek’s Pick: LBS, Inc. Although the Rainbows will be looking to avenge last week’s tough loss, LBS is like Hansel and thus, so hot right now.
Watchability: 5 Pichons

GAME OF THE WEEK
HOCKEY NIGHT IN TOMPKINS
Filthy Gorgeous (6-2-1) vs. LBS, Inc. (6-3)
Location: Tompkins East, 6:30 PM
All-Time Series: Filthy Gorgeous leads 3-1-1
Game Notes: Hockey Night in Tompkins has been blessed with a great matchup this weekend, courtesy of the Schuie-tron 3000. After a red hot start to the season, Filthy Gorgeous has stagnated in the past few weeks, winning only one of their last four games. During this stretch, the offense has averaged just one goal a game, but on the strength of two shutouts from Dan “D.O” Owens, the team has managed to salvage a win and a tie. LBS, Inc. has now won three games in a row and is once again looking like an elite team after a sluggish start to the season. The Corporation is second in overall scoring, mainly due to its lethal duo of Karsten Pichon and “The Alpha Male” Ken Poulin, who both have double-digit goals (13 and 10, respectively). With Pichon and Poulin playing at such a high level, “D.O.” will once again have to be at the top of his game for Filthy to break out of its slump.
Keys To The Game:
1. Filthy Gorgeous’ defense has given up only 12 total goals this season, placing it second in BTSH. The most the team has allowed in any one game is a scant three goals.
2. LBS, Inc. defender Sam Anthony remains one of the best dual threats in the league. In addition to being one of the top pure defenseman in BTSH, he has also chipped in six goals, putting him third on the team.
3. It is no secret that Filthy Gorgeous defender Becky Antar Novick is one of the league’s biggest fan favorites. With a raucous crowd expected for Hockey Night in Tompkins, her cheering section should be loud and boisterous.
Eli’s Pick: LBS, Inc. The Corporation is clicking on all cylinders right now.
Derek’s Pick: LBS, Inc. I’ll call the two defenses a wash in this game, but LBS, Inc. has the advantage on offense.
