GAME OF THE WEEK
Mathematics (2-0) vs. Mighty Squirrels (1-0-1)
Location: Moffo, 5:00 PM
All-Time Series: Mathematics lead 4-0
Game Notes: This matchup has rapidly developed into one of the most intense rivalries in all of BTSH. Captains Rachel “A-Korn” Greene and Derek Tagliarino have made no secret of their mutual hatred of one another, as their small New Jersey-New York feud has escalated exponentially. However, Greene and Tagliarino were able to put aside their differences just long enough to wager a case of beer on the outcome of this game. The annual Squirrels-Mathematics prank war has also commenced. The Mathematics struck first by stealing Rocky, the Mighty Squirrels’ mascot. The Squirrels then retaliated by kidnapping the Mathematics’ mascot, Screech. This game promises to be a blood bath and will not be for the faint of heart.
Keys to the Game:
1. Despite generating several scoring chances last week for the Mathematics, Andy Pratt was held without a goal. He’ll be looking to change that this Sunday.
2. Goalie Sarah Coombs of Mathematics has allowed just one goal in two games, while Tommy Mayoros of the Mighty Squirrels has allowed just two. Both have promised to outperform their counterpart in this game.
3. The Mighty Squirrels’ Arthur “Lil Weezy” Revechkis has been practicing a new shot he calls the “Knuckle-Puck” all week. He plans to unveil it Sunday.

Dark Rainbows (1-0) vs. LBS (1-0)
Location: Corlears North, 3:00 PM
All-Time Series: LBS leads 5-4-1
Game Notes:
Both teams started the season on the right foot with solid wins in their opening matches. Going back to last year, the Dark Rainbows have now won six consecutive games, although they showed a little rust last week. After dominating goaltending throughout the 2007 playoffs, Trevor Tyrrell (who now wants to be known as “White Jesus”) looked almost human by allowing two goals against Filthy Gorgeous. LBS showed a lot of heart against a revamped Cobra Kai team, as they rallied from behind to win 3-2. However, two of their goals came from Molly Jacobs, who will be a good 3,000 miles from the court on Sunday. In four years, these teams have already played each other ten times, including several classic playoff games. The series is now about even, and we can expect the same from this game.
Keys to the Game:
1. The Rainbows can count on a solid performance from White Jesus, so it will be up to their balanced offensive attack to make the difference.
2. With Ken “The Alpha Male” Poulin still serving his suspension, Karsten Pichon and Brian “Grandmaster B” Barrett will be the duo to keep an eye on for LBS.
3. Sean Reynolds hit the weight room hard all winter. Although he can now bench press 500 pounds and squat more than 700, his new found muscle mass may slow him down.
Eli’s Pick: Dark Rainbows. Even though I’m Jewish, I recognize the awesomeness of White Jesus.
Derek’s Pick: Dark Rainbows. They truly have some of the best unknown scorers in the league. I expect a lot of goals by a lot of different people.

GAME OF THE WEEK
Corlears Hookers vs. Gouging Anklebiters
Location: Corlears North, 4:00 PM
All-Time Series: Corlears Hookers lead 2-0
Game Notes:
When these two teams last met, the Gouging Anklebiters nearly pulled off a monumental playoff upset. However, with just fifteen seconds left in regulation, Peter “Purple Rain” Putka scored the equalizing goal to force overtime, where Gavin “Dutch’s Brother” Kearney scored the game winner. Neither team experienced a lot of turnover in the offseason, so this will be a true playoff rematch. A close, low-scoring game is expected.
Keys to the Game:
1. Goalie “Quiet” Mike O’Connor held the explosive Corlears Hookers offense to only five goals in more than 100 minutes of play last season. For the Anklebiters to have a chance, he must play well.
2. The Corlears Hookers are coming off of their longest losing streak ever. Will the loss to the Rainbows still be in their heads?
3. Eric “El Guapo” DiPierri’s mother has promised him extra ice cream should the Anklebiters win. He’ll be playing hard.
Eli’s Pick: Corlears Hookers. Even the Anklebiters will readily admit that they historically start the season slowly.
Derek’s Pick: Corlears Hookers. Congratulations to Dutch’s Brother, who’s expecting a child soon (who will be named Dutch’s Nephew/Niece).
