Week 6 News and Notes
Long Weekends Make The Planet Smile
With Memorial Day marking the unofficial start to the summer season, the holiday is traditionally associated with barbeques, parades, family gatherings, and sporting events. Thus, as BTSH approaches this highly anticipated weekend, the media conducted a league-wide survey to gauge people’s plans for their day off from hockey. Some of the notable responses are after the jump.
- Kevin “The Planet” Foster (Fresh Kills) will be vacationing at his family’s compound on Nantucket.
- Mike Smith (Mathematics) will be attending auto racing’s signature event, the Indianapolis 500.
- Anita Khar (Rehabs) is planning a massive party at her beach house on the Connecticut shoreline. According to her, “There’s gonna be pie!”
- Eric “El Guapo” DiPierri (Happy Little Elves) will have a quiet weekend at home with his mom.
- The Peter Wilson (La Famiglia) has been chosen to serve as grand marshall of the Memorial Day parade in his hometown of Westfield, NJ.
- Lisa Harrington (What The Puck) is looking forward to seeing musician Jesse Malin perform at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ.
- Mega Touch will be hanging out on goalie Mike Tuckman’s rooftop.
- “Gentleman” James Pereira (Filthy Gorgeous) will be acting in a staged reading of The Crucible in Central Park.
- Caroline Morrissey-Bickerton (Gouging Anklebiters) will bring her world famous potato salad to a barbeque, where she will most likely drink a lot of beer.
- Josh “Doc” Sadlier-Brown (Corlears Hookers) is intently anticipating the Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami marathon on E!
- Robert Kucera (Sky Fighters) has no plans.
Congratulations, Gina!

It is with utmost respect and pride that the Rehabs are pleased to announce their infamous All-Star defender, Gina Hackett, is now a famous All-Star Emmy Award winner! For her production of the documentary, History of the Boston Bruins, Gina was recognized this past weekend and honored for her hard work. When reached for comment, Hackett said, “The only thing that would make me happier than winning this award would be for me to stick it inside one (or more) of the Denim Demons.”

Dirty Laundry

If you were to travel to England today, your not-so-Almighty Dollar would only get you about 7/10 of a British Pound. This is a depressing thought and has convinced me that until I get a higher paying job, I will resign myself to watching Merchant Ivory films or anything starring Colin Firth to get my UK fix. However, this weak economy has not kept LBS, Inc. from procuring a new wardrobe. Breaking with tradition, the team’s game jerseys no longer sport the traditional preppy collar. To commemorate theirs and BTSH’s inception, the new t-shirts have only the insignia over their hearts, flanked by the numbers 1 and 0 (for ten, not for on and off in Binary, you nerd). The most notable addition to their 2010 Spring line is a navy-blue cardigan with the pound sterling symbol embroidered in white. Two things come to mind when I see these sweaters: 1) “I just got it last night at the Limited.” and 2) yacht wear. I get the feeling it’s more of the former when it comes to LBS, Inc., but you never know… maybe Ken and Karsten will take on the roles of Gopher and Isaac and we’ll all be making another run.

Well, I for one am glad Gina is so generous that she would share her award with us. The only way it would’ve been better if it were an leg lamp!
