After serving a two-game suspension, recent Elves addition Eric &#8220;El Guapo&#8221; DiPierri is now eligible to play his first game with his new team.\u00a0 Though sluggish at times, DiPierri does posses one of the better shots in the league.<br \/>\n2. With six of their nine points coming from games they trailed at the half, the Mathematics have proved to be a very resilient team.\u00a0 However, they will need\u00a0to play two solid halves to beat the Elves.<br \/>\n3.\u00a0This is the first ever Game of the Week apperance for the Happy Little Elves, due to their residence at the bottom of the standings.\u00a0 Will they rise to the occassion or crack under the pressure now that they are firmly in the spotlight?<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>What The Puck (9-1) vs. Corlears Hookers (6-2-1-1)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Tompkins East, 2:00 PM<br \/>\n<strong>All-Time Series:<\/strong> What The Puck leads 2-1<br \/>\n<strong>Game Notes: <\/strong>Both of these teams enter this game in relative slumps.\u00a0What The Puck suffered its first loss of the season last week against the Unicorns, and the Corlears Hookers could only salvage a tie against the Mighty Squirrels.\u00a0 Despite these hiccups, both teams remain in the upper tier of the standings with WTP sitting in first and the Hookers tied for fourth.\u00a0 As a result, one might wonder why this\u00a0battle\u00a0isn&#8217;t the Game of the Week.\u00a0 Fuck &#8217;em,\u00a0that&#8217;s why.<br \/>\n<strong>Eli&#8217;s Pick:<\/strong> What The Puck.\u00a0 According to captain Larry &#8220;Mad Dog&#8221;\u00a0Zimmer, you will never see a team play harder than What The Puck will the rest of the season.<br \/>\n<strong>Derek&#8217;s Pick:<\/strong> No pick. Derek will be reffing this game.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Filthy Gorgeous (6-3-1) vs. Gouging Anklebiters (4-5-1)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Tompkins West, 2:00 PM<br \/>\n<strong>All-Time Series:<\/strong> Filthy Gorgeous leads 4-2<br \/>\n<strong>Game Notes:<\/strong> Despite Filthy Gorgeous and the Gouging Anklebiters&#8217; relative proximity in the standings, both have a different focus for this game.\u00a0\u00a0 With\u00a0each team using a navy blue base for\u00a0its jersey, a heated debate has sprung up regarding which team will have to don a different color on Sunday.\u00a0 Biters captain Phil &#8220;Sandy&#8221; Donohue has publicly stated that Filthy should have to revert to\u00a0its electric lime shirts, but as the home captain, Monica Russo has stated that will <em>never<\/em> happen.<br \/>\n<strong>Eli&#8217;s Pick:<\/strong> No pick. Eli will be reffing this game.<br \/>\n<strong>Derek&#8217;s Pick:<\/strong> Filthy Gorgeous. Not even Jeremy &#8220;The Foot&#8221; Schumacher can put his foot down and force Filthy to wear their throwbacks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Denim Demons (6-0-2-2) vs. Mighty Squirrels (4-5-1)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Tompkins West, 3:00 PM<br \/>\n<strong>All-Time Series:<\/strong> Denim Demons lead 5-0<br \/>\n<strong>Game Notes:<\/strong> For the second straight season, the Denim Demons are the last team in BTSH without a regulation loss.\u00a0 However, because of their two ties and two shootout losses, they still trail What The Puck and the Dark Rainbows in the overall standings.\u00a0 Meanwhile, despite sitting in 11th place, the Mighty Squirrels are riding high after last week&#8217;s moral victory of tying the\u00a0favored Corlears Hookers.<br \/>\n<strong>Eli&#8217;s Pick:<\/strong> Denim Demons<br \/>\n<strong>Derek&#8217;s Pick:<\/strong> Denim Demons.\u00a0 Unfortunately, it may speak volumes when your moral victory is notching a tie.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mexican Standoff (0-9-0-1) vs. Mega Touch (1-8-1)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Tompkins East, 4:00 PM<br \/>\n<strong>All-Time Series:<\/strong> Mega Touch leads 6-5-1<br \/>\n<strong>Game Notes:<\/strong> Although this game features the two lowest scoring offenses in BTSH, this does not mean it will wont for talented scorers.\u00a0 Mexican Standoff is led by Ben, whose six goals account for half his team&#8217;s total output.\u00a0 In a stat that had to be looked up twice, Alex &#8220;Coop&#8221; Eben Meyer leads Mega Touch in goals, with three.<br \/>\n<strong>Eli&#8217;s Pick:<\/strong> Mexican Standoff.\u00a0 They&#8217;ve come close in recent weeks and can taste a victory.<br \/>\n<strong>Derek&#8217;s Pick:<\/strong> Mexican Standoff&#8230;but I&#8217;ll be watching LBS-Rehabs at this time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rehabs (6-4) vs. LBS, Inc. (7-3)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Tompkins West, 4:00 PM<br \/>\n<strong>All-Time Series:<\/strong> LBS, Inc. leads 7-4<br \/>\n<strong>Game Notes:<\/strong> LBS, Inc. is riding a four game winning streak,\u00a0including its most recent effort, a 3-1 victory against Filthy Gorgeous on Hockey Night in Tompkins. Conversely, the Rehabs have lost their last three games, although each defeat has been by only one goal. The Rehabs&#8217; fortunes should be bolstered by the expected 2009 debuts of Chantel Arroyo and Toughness and Grace Award namesake Stacy Kehoe.<br \/>\n<strong>Eli&#8217;s Pick:<\/strong> Rehabs.\u00a0 The returns of Arroyo and Kehoe should provide them with plenty of inspiration.<br \/>\n<strong>Derek&#8217;s Pick:<\/strong> LBS, Inc.\u00a0 As stated last week, they have too much talent on both sides of the ball.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuques (2-8) vs. Unicorns (7-3)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Tompkins East, 5:30 PM<br \/>\n<strong>All-Time Series:<\/strong> Unicorns lead 11-0<br \/>\n<strong>Game Notes:<\/strong> These Woodsworth Division foes renew acquaintances just a mere two weeks after their first meeting. In that week 10 matchup, the Unicorns withstood a late Tuques charge to notch a 3-2 victory and remain undefeated in the all-time series. Unicorns forward Chris, who leads his team with nine goals on the season, scored two goals in that game.<br \/>\n<strong>Eli&#8217;s Pick:<\/strong> Unicorns.\u00a0 They&#8217;re still riding the high of knocking off What The Puck.<br \/>\n<strong>Derek&#8217;s Pick:<\/strong> Unicorns.\u00a0 The series history does not bode well for Tuques Hockey.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fresh Kills (5-5) vs. Sky Fighters (6-4)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> Tompkins West, 5:30 PM<br \/>\n<strong>All-Time Series:<\/strong> Fresh Kills leads 7-6<br \/>\n<strong>Game Notes:<\/strong> Fresh Kills&#8217; road to the 2008 championship began with a victory against the Sky Fighters in the\u00a0opening round of the\u00a0playoffs.\u00a0 In an intense defensive matchup, Fresh Kills forward Caroline Currie scored the lone goal of the game to\u00a0propel her team to the upset.\u00a0 The Sky Fighters will be looking for revenge against the team that caused their early exit.<br \/>\n<strong>Eli&#8217;s Pick:<\/strong> Fresh Kills<br \/>\n<strong>Derek&#8217;s Pick:<\/strong> Sky Fighters.
