{"id":3707,"date":"2011-01-21T21:28:47","date_gmt":"2011-01-22T02:28:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.btsh.org\/bruise\/?p=3707"},"modified":"2011-01-21T21:28:47","modified_gmt":"2011-01-22T02:28:47","slug":"job-opening-la-famiglia-beat-reporter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.miyagimedia.com\/bruise\/job-opening-la-famiglia-beat-reporter\/","title":{"rendered":"Job Opening: La Famiglia Beat Reporter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Looking for a summer job?<\/p>\n<p>The BTSH media is seeking a skilled and energetic writer to join our team and report on La Famiglia throughout the 2011 season.\u00a0 Candidates should possess a strong journalistic background, a thorough knowledge of street hockey, and a firm grasp of obscure pop culture references (or at least, two out of the three).\u00a0 This is a great opportunity to work with two of the elite web writers in the business and get a hands-on education on how to run a highly successful and entertaining sports blog.<\/p>\n<p>Please note, this is an unpaid position.\u00a0 However, benefits include VIP seating at all La Famiglia home games in the historic Tuques Arena, traveling with the team to road games, a chance to meet The Peter Wilson, and the opportunity to build a professional writing portfolio.<\/p>\n<p>Job Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Writing La Famiglia&#8217;s team preview for the 2011 season<\/li>\n<li>Attending captain David Ladanyi&#8217;s weekly press conference<\/li>\n<li>Tracking the team throughout the season and creating periodic features on its progress<\/li>\n<li>Previewing each of La Famiglia&#8217;s 18 regular season games, as well as any potential playoff contests<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring La Famiglia&#8217;s minor league system and keeping tabs on any up and coming prospects<\/li>\n<li>Conducting pre- and post-game interviews with key players, most notably team press secretary, Shafiq &#8220;Off Black&#8221; Perry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interested candidates should forward their resumes and two writing samples to <a href=\"mailto:derek@btsh.org\" target=\"_blank\">derek@btsh.org<\/a> or <a href=\"mailto:eli@btsh.org\" target=\"_blank\">eli@btsh.org<\/a> with the subject line &#8220;La Famiglia.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Looking for a summer job?
