REFS NEEDED
\nhello btsh members.
\nour league is unique in many ways. one of those ways is that we, the
\nplayers and members, ref each other and ourselves. we don’t have
\nprofessional refs, for a number of reason. one reason is because of the
\nexpense. but a more important reason is that by having players ref games it
\nmakes everyone more accountable to each other for their behavior and has a
\nlot to do with lessening jerky behavior.<\/p>\n
each season we seek new refs to help run this vital aspect of the league.
\nwe need new refs from both veteran players and new comers.<\/p>\n
reffing isn’t as difficult as you may assume. and new refs get training and
\nwill be placed with experienced refs to help ease them into the role.<\/p>\n
there are some players who try reffing and find that it isn’t for them and
\nthat’s fine – we don’t pressure anybody into reffing who doesn’t want to do
\nit. but most people who try it out enjoy it and stick with it.<\/p>\n
as a ref, you generally will be scheduled to ref one game every other week.
\nit’s not a huge commitment. but it IS extremely important to the league.<\/p>\n
