After 15 Seasons…It’s Finally $h0wt!m3 Again
In 2001…the inaugural season of BTSH a young 17-year-old boy named Hector Melendez played on the Unicorns. They made the finals and lost to the Rehabs. Much like Dan Marino, people predicted Young Hector would see a lot more finals.
But year after year, team after team he never got back. Eventually Hector became $h0wT!m3 and found a home on the Rehabs. Of course there were small stints with several other teams
and actually a two year stretch where he didn’t wrestling play in the league. (Don’t give up Newman, sometimes it takes a couple of years)
While $h0wT!m3 was always a speedy, aggressive forechecker, his true passion has been goalie. In 2010 he asked to be the Elves goalie and I told him I was looking for someone more polished. Truthfully, I never thought he’d be able to take a team to the finals. I think a lot of us felt that way. And yesterday, after another impressive low-scoring win, Hector proved us all wrong.
But this isn’t just about $h0w’s goaltending prowess. For the first time ever, a third world team…I mean a third division team made it to the finals. That’s GM of the year. But there is so much more to $h0w than his hockey acumen.
Running a hockey league involving 20 teams and many strong personalities is not easy. Its why we’ve had so many commissioners over the years. But truth be told, when he finally does leave us, I’m not sure if I’ll still be an administrator (loud cheers from the audience I know). Hector and the Rehabs always ref the most games in the league. Simply put, guys like $h0wT!m3, Alex Z., Alex E.M., Newman, Bob W., make both Tim and my job much easier.
Lastly, there are a lot of people that have won a BTSH Championship. Few of those people if any, would appreciate it more than $h0w.

One day this man should hold the BTSH Cup instead of the Cup that we no longer are allowed to name on this site.
Every season when someone wins, I wish guys like Coach, Craig, Derek, Eli, Rachel, Julie and Hector could somehow find their way on that team, instead of some rando who will forget he/she played in BTSH. Next Sunday is Hector’s chance. Not just to win one not for the underdogs. But for the people who have put in years of service, and crave for just one shot to play in this game. So with all due respect to Filthier, you guys will get your due later this week…but for now…
Lets go Mets, Lets go America, Lets go $h0wT!m3.
