Disclaimer: We have absolutely no association with this league. The BTSH Media was so desperate for content, they hired two people off the internet. Neither of us know what street hockey is nor how to count, especially when it comes to calculating your pluses and minuses.

“This is hockey, OK? It’s not rocket surgery.”

So somehow a Division 3 team ended up as number 1 in the league by achieving an impressive 16-0-2 record. Let’s take a moment to recognize that feat. But let’s also take a moment to point out that Will G. thinks shootouts are a joke, and yet, the CK/Biters shootout is what led CK to this point.

Reasons They’ve Made It This Far:
Pound for Lb, these teams seem pretty evenly matched. With both teams relatively close in total goals CK (61) and Filthy (58), it could come down to solid defense and goaltending. And lucky for Will, there are NO shootouts in the semis. For the entertainment portion of this piece we wanted to provide you all with the best.ever. We couldn’t agree with you more, Senior Guapo.  Celebrating a championship with a keg of Schlitz beer to fill up and slosh around in solo cups while telling tales of the season’s campaign is much better than an empty cup.  If Filthier ends up losing to Cobra Kai then James just might be sporting Wes’s mug across his chest.

Games are also decided by those that show up.  Last week the Riots were a bit depleted and borrowed spare parts from WTP and Rehabs to face a well-attended Dark Rainbows squad.  Suz’s offensive explosion in the first half kept her team in the hunt, but it wasn’t enough to pull out the W.  If the Riots can get more looters to show up this Sunday then they might be able to force a rematch in Final.

Mega Touch has been pretty damn impressive this season and the three Award Nominations they received prove it(!).  Alex’s move back move to defense, Shelly’s emergence as a future league star and Julie’s leadership have this team trending in the right direction.  They too would like another shot at the Dark Rainbows and a chance to take keg stands from the Schlitz Cup.

Prediction: the Riots take an early lead off of a Kevin Z goal, but Joe outhustles everyone on a breakaway late in the second half to set up an Alok goal that propels Mega to the Schlitz Final. (more…)

2018 BTSH Award Nominations!!!

The final nominations were not easy to agree on.  The Awards Committee reviewed minutes of video tape, analyzed all the wild stats Alex came up with, went through a couple bottles of Everclear and deliberated for several seconds before paring down the list to only five BTSHers for each category.  And without further ado here they are. While everyone loves upsets, the lack of Cinderella stories in the round of 16, made for some amazing hockey in the quarters. Only the FK/Filthier game was decided by more than a goal, and two games went to OT.

If you’re looking for HM or Schlitz Cup heroics, this aint the place. But before we give the stars, a tip of the hat to our Phareouxx. He knew Fuzz was short and if the game was at two, they’d be without Miles and (boy) Ryan. He made sure the game was at 12. Respect. Hero. Now onto the Stars.

Last year, Filthier prevented FK from going undefeated by beating them in a shootout. This year, they did one better and eliminated them. Sean was brilliant, scoring two beautiful goals, while Tim K. stood on his head.

The goalie performances from all 8 goalies today were unreal. Many times FK put one in a corner, only to have Tim make an outstanding save. Want to be scared? Filthier is in the semis (again) and James P. only has one goal. (more…)

The top four seeds are moving on to the Semi Finals and the other 16 teams have stopped caring.

3. LBS, Inc. will play 2. Fuzz.

4. Filthier will play 1. Cobra Kai.

Schlitz Cup!

The media came together like Voltron on the Dark Rainbows and finally solved Dave GDR and the Riots.  They are now moving on to face the agave depleted Gut Rot.

The woes for Gut Rot continued as they could only muster a single goal against goalie Jeff and Mega Touch.  Mega moves on to face a butt hurt Riots team that has recently acquired the talents of Michelle U and her wife, and a Hogg.
