refs wanted. that means you, dude.

March 27th, 2006

REFS NEEDED
hello btsh members.
our league is unique in many ways. one of those ways is that we, the
players and members, ref each other and ourselves. we don’t have
professional refs, for a number of reason. one reason is because of the
expense. but a more important reason is that by having players ref games it
makes everyone more accountable to each other for their behavior and has a
lot to do with lessening jerky behavior.

each season we seek new refs to help run this vital aspect of the league.
we need new refs from both veteran players and new comers.

reffing isn’t as difficult as you may assume. and new refs get training and
will be placed with experienced refs to help ease them into the role.

there are some players who try reffing and find that it isn’t for them and
that’s fine – we don’t pressure anybody into reffing who doesn’t want to do
it. but most people who try it out enjoy it and stick with it.

as a ref, you generally will be scheduled to ref one game every other week.
it’s not a huge commitment. but it IS extremely important to the league.

if you have any interest in help out the league as a ref, contact me and
i’ll fill you in on the details. PLEASE consider giving it a try! thanks!

new registration due date/scrimmage/listings

March 21st, 2006

*new registration due date
to make it more fair to those scrimmaging on sunday, the last day of registration is being pushed back one day, to 3/26, the sunday night after the last scrimmage.

we realize we lost a scrimmage due to weather, but the 3/26 deadline applies only to the april start date. ie, if you miss the registration deadline on 3/26, you just have to wait until may to scrimmage and sign up for the summer, missing just 4 games.

to sum up:
-FORMS ARE NOW DUE THE NIGHT OF SUNDAY, 3/26
-FEES ARE DUE FROM CAPTAINS ON 3/29

*scrimmage
is, once again, at corlears at 3, weather permitting. directions/weather updates/etc at btsh.org. i’ll send out another reminder later this week.
