Three Stars of Week 14

by Chairwoman Rachel and Isaac

Third Star
Tuckman from Mega Touch

Mick Tuckman, he’s a regular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

Minding the net against the Riots with only Alex EM and Shelly as your support is no easy task.  But Tuckman belches in the face of such challenges along with a ‘child, please’ brush of his shoulder.  Throughout the game he snagged lasers out of thin air, swatted aside desperate attempts, stared down D-Frost, bicycle-kicked away shots while spinning on his turtle shell and didn’t even call one water break.  He was the rock that Mega leaned on all game and earned the shutout.

Second Star
Tim B from Gouging Anklebiters

Tequila!

The monsoon that washed out games on Sunday, sending teams scattering to their watering holes of choice, was an ass.  Timmy Baby led the rush from the courts over a great distance to Doc Holidays, knocking over a row of bicycles like dominoes along the way.  With his parents in attendance along with some Butchers, Math, Filthier, Gremlins, LBS, Biters and Karma he sprang up on the bar and treated us to this and that.  Thanks for the show, Baby!

First Star
Instant Karma, The Clean Up Team of Our Dreams

I know, we all complain about playing in the rain or some people complain about not being able to play in the rain. Scotty K just relishes any opportunity to play, rain or shine. But for most of us, playing in the rain sucks. You know what sucks even more? Coming all the way to Tompkins to find out your game isn’t happening. What is even suckier? Realizing that you don’t have a game, but you are the clean up team, and you have to clean up after everyone else. Is it Karma? Why yes, that did happen to Karma. Those poor saps had to clean up all the garbage that you drunk a**holes left when you ran from the rain like an oz character(the melty witch kind, not the rapey prison kind). But they did it with a soaking wet smile, then they drank, and drank and drank. One of them even drove me home! So here’s to Instant Karma, who didn’t get to play hockey, but cleaned up and then drank as if they had. The spirit of BTSH rests in all of them, Isaac, Chadwick, Brianna, Bennett, Derek, Al, Nicole, Steven, Bill and Liz.

Honorable Mentions

Alok scored two goals for Mega Touch with one of them being the insurance goal.  Shelly snagged the GWG.

Burke (Butchers) and Dustin (Hookers) put on a goal tending clinic during their game.  After regulation and OT it was 0-0.  An LOL Shootout was needed to decide the contest.

Tim K of Filthier was shutting out the Rehabs’ potent offense into the early second half.

When it rained again.

The rain didn’t stop.

Looking for someone to blame? Blame Glanzer, not our current commissioners, I’m pretty sure this was leftover from the last administration.
